We finally made it out of the marina this morning and have come into the Bosphorus. Ron has to take some parts for the bow-thruster which it turned out we didn't need back to the shop outside Istanbul, so we stopped at a nearby marina/hotel. While I was sorting out the paperwork Ron got a taxi, and hopefully got to his destination by 6 as they were about to close for the weekend.
He's going to be gutted when he hears that this very rolly berth is going to cost £100 for the night!
On the positive side the tank and bow thrusters all seem to work.
Post script: After writing this yesterday, Ron returned, was horrified by the marina price and so we left. We headed for Poyraz at the entrance to the Black Sea where we anchored for the night. We went ashore today and had a wander round followed by a very good lunch at a fish restaurant. What we saved by not staying at the marina would have bought the lunch fives times over!
Tomorrow we go into the Black Sea, heading east.
