Success!

We are still in Yalova, and Ron's been sorting out the holding tank, plus a few other issues along the way. Well today the holding tank is in place and we also have a new macerator (if you don't know what this is don't ask).

All that remains is to put the boat back together and then we hope to get out of Yalova on Tuesday.

We have had visits from Cahit, the friend Ron made when he was here in November. One evening he took us out for an authentic kebab and brought along his wife, son and 18 month old grandson It was difficult communicating with his wife but we got by with hand signals. On the way back to the boat Jahid gave Ron a copy of the Koran in English. He said that if Ron read it, his life would be changed. No promises were made!

Then yesterday he insisted on taking us to see the local sites around Yalova. (Ron was a bit stressed as he wanted to get on with the work, but we couldn't really say No). First of all we went around a park based around a thermal spring. Several locations contained hot water fountains that were good for specific parts of the body. This picture shows Ron and Cahit drinking water from a leaf, apparently this is good for rheumatism.
Another place we visited contained a lovely waterfall.

The other bit of news you may have heard about are the protests happening against the government. There was a march here last night, mainly students, but probably over a thousand people.
I think it is the nearest I've been to a protest march. It was all good natured but people are obviously angry with the government.

I think Ron may update you more on the holding tank saga later. For now, au revoir from me.
